Healthy Eating – 10 Tips

The health of our nation is one of the most important issues we face as a country. In the past few years, obesity has become an epidemic in America. More than a third of American adults are considered overweight or obese. This is more than double the number from a decade ago. The number of children who are overweight or obese is also increasing. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, approximately 17% of children ages 2-5 are obese.

Obesity can lead to a variety of serious diseases and conditions. The most common include heart disease, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and some cancers.

Obesity is not only a problem with adults. It is also a concern among children. Studies show that obesity in childhood increases the risk of adult obesity. Children who are obese are more likely to be obese as adults.

Obesity is a complex problem that requires many factors to be considered. Diet plays a large role in determining whether someone is obese. There are many different types of diets. Some people believe that the Mediterranean diet is the best way to eat. Others may prefer the DASH diet.

A healthy diet consists of foods that provide the body with all of the nutrients it needs. A balanced diet includes a variety of food groups. These groups include fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, protein, and fats.
